As of May 2025, Turkmenistan ranked fifth among natural gas suppliers to Turkey. According to data from Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), Turkmenistan exported 120.03 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey, accounting for 3.39% of the country’s total gas imports, Report.az reports.
In total, Turkey imported 3.54 billion cubic meters of natural gas in May, marking a 22.79% increase compared to the same period last year. The majority of this volume—89.32%—came via pipelines from five countries.
Alongside Turkmenistan, the top suppliers of pipeline gas to Turkey included Azerbaijan (29.87%), Russia (33.7%), Iran (22.37%), Algeria (7.96%), and the United States (2.71%). Turkmenistan was the only new entrant on this list, showing consistent pipeline delivery volumes.
Turkey continues to diversify its energy sources, and Turkmenistan’s participation in this process highlights its growing role in the regional energy market.
