A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea Issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as heads and representatives of relevant ministries and government agencies.
The participants were briefed on the commission's activities over the past year, in accordance with the objectives outlined in the 2025 work plan. Following the discussion, an action plan for 2026 was approved, with particular emphasis on the priority tasks of the first half of this year.
The meeting also focused on Turkmenistan's role in developing cooperation on Caspian issues. It was noted that Ashgabat has for many years taken a proactive and constructive position in developing balanced solutions on Caspian Sea issues and has made a significant contribution to the development of a legal framework for cooperation.
Work in this area is currently ongoing in coordination with all Caspian states based on international law, which contributes to strengthening stability and developing multilateral cooperation in the Caspian region.
