A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service, Dowran Bayramov, participated in the 116th session of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Council, which opened on December 8 in Geneva, Turkmenportal.com reports.
According to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participants discussed key challenges in international migration, from the link between migration and socio-economic development to the strategic priorities of the Organization. Member states presented their approaches to managing migration processes.
In his speech, Dowran Bayramov outlined Turkmenistan’s stance on major migration policy directions, emphasizing the importance of international coordination and a comprehensive approach to migration management.
He also highlighted Turkmenistan’s steps to modernize its migration system, including simplifying legal entry and exit channels, improving administrative procedures, and ensuring equal social and labor rights for migrants.
