Turkmenistan became the main supplier of electricity to Kyrgyzstan in 2022. The value of supplies since the beginning of this year is estimated at $56.7 million, according to the report on Foreign and Mutual Trade of the Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
In January-October, Kyrgyzstan imported 2.66 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, of which 2.25 billion kilowatt-hours are imported from Turkmenistan, the Orient portal wrote.
Compared to the same period in 2021, the export of Turkmen electricity to Kyrgyzstan increased by 6.6 times. In 2021, 305.8 million kilowatt-hours of Turkmen electricity were supplied to the republic. The value of supplies increased 9.7 times.
