Turkmenistan has proposed that Kyrgyzstan create mutually acceptable conditions for using the infrastructure of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said during talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, TDH reports.

“We see enormous potential in the transport and logistics sector of our region. Therefore, we consider it necessary to more effectively use the capabilities of the Central Asia-Middle East transport and transit corridor. In this context, the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan route with access to seaports in the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea is a strategically important step. We are ready to create mutually acceptable conditions for using the infrastructure capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

The first meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Transport, Transit and Logistics will be held on April 28-30 this year in Bishkek.
