The gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China, which also passes through the countries of Central Asia, has delivered 423.2 billion cubic meters of gas to China since its launch in 2009. During this period, it provided blue fuel to 500 million residents of 27 regions of the country and Hong Kong, according to the Chinese edition of People's daily.
At the same time, the share of Turkmenistan in the total volume of blue fuel exported through the pipeline is 350 billion cubic meters, that is, more than 83%. This means that Turkmen gas is key to China's energy mix.
China also imports gas from Uzbekistan.
As a result of the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Beijing, Turkmenistan and China agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint energy projects.
