Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.3% in the first half of 2025, reflecting the effective implementation of the country’s state development programs, according to Turkmenistan: The Golden Age.

Capital investment across the country reached 17.83 billion manats (approximately $5.3 billion at the official exchange rate), marking a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year. A total of 269,700 square meters of residential housing was commissioned in the provinces, cities, and districts of the republic.

Special attention is being given to preparations for events in 2025, which has been declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly at Turkmenistan’s initiative. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state.

A high-level Forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust is scheduled to take place on December 12, 2025.

In celebration of the country's independence, Turkmenistan will also hold a new session of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council). An organizing committee including members of the Cabinet of Ministers, regional administrations, and ministries is currently being formed to prepare for the event.
