Turkmenistan’s Non-Oil Imports from Iran Rise Sharply in First 4 Months of Iranian Year

Non-oil imports from Iran into Turkmenistan increased by 29.4% in value and 17.1% in volume during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to July 22, 2025), compared to the same period of the previous year (March 20 to July 21, 2024), according to Orient.tm.

As reported by Trend, during this period Turkmenistan imported approximately 519,000 tons of non-oil goods from Iran, valued at around $194 million. In the same four-month period last year, imports amounted to about 443,000 tons, worth nearly $150 million.

The import portfolio included a wide range of Iranian-produced goods such as agricultural and food products, industrial goods, electric transformers, water purification systems, petrochemical products, and various other categories.

Total non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan reached $196 million and 521,000 tons over the four-month period, marking a 26% increase in value and a 16.4% rise in volume compared to the previous year.
