The 2025 results have not yet been summarized, but the most significant events in the development of Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry are already visible, according to the newspaper oilgas.gov.tm.

In 2025, large-scale international projects continued, including the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which is designed not only to supply Turkmen gas to Asian countries but also to become an important factor in strengthening economic partnership, peace, and stability in the region. In this regard, a significant event of the year was the launch of the next stage of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly" and part of the TAPI project.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov symbolically launched welding work on the Afghan section, noting that Afghan citizens would also be involved in the project, and its full implementation would create new jobs. Furthermore, annual revenues to Afghanistan will average over $1 billion, which will have a positive impact on bilateral relations and the development of the region as a whole.

During the year, work continued on the industrial development of fields on the Turkmen Caspian shelf, as well as the world's largest onshore gas field, Galkynysh, with reserves estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters.

A significant achievement for drillers at the Turkmennebit State Concern was the commissioning of a new well at the Uzynada field at the beginning of the year. It is 6,830 meters deep and produces a daily flow rate of 70 tons of oil condensate and 75,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

Turkmen geologists continued active work to identify new underground reserves of natural resources. Seismic exploration in the country's provinces revealed several promising structures.

Another significant milestone was the opening in July of the third oil loading terminal at the Kenar oil product storage and loading facility of the Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex of the Turkmennebit State Concern.

According to emissions mitigation work at the Darvaza gas crater, a significant reduction in gas recharge to the crater was reported in June 2025, confirmed by both a visual reduction in combustion intensity and independent satellite data from Capterio.

In 2025, the Turkmenistan International Investment Promotion Forum (TEIF 2025) was held, along with the QACIS 2025, TESC 2025, and the XXX International Conference and Exhibition "Turkmenistan Oil and Gas 2025." Turkmenistan participated in ADIPEC 2025.

Further evidence of strengthening international partnerships was the opening of an office of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in Ashgabat. In 2025, the company expanded its presence in Turkmenistan by concluding a strategic agreement to develop Block 1 in the Caspian Sea jointly with Petronas and state-owned corporations.

Thus, in 2025, Turkmenistan's fuel and energy sector demonstrated sustainable and progressive development, successfully implementing the objectives outlined in the National Socioeconomic Development Program for 2022–2052, the source notes.
