The number of tourists from Turkmenistan who visited Azerbaijan in January-May 2023 increased by 3.9 times compared to the same period in 2022. Such data are provided by the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
It is reported that during the given period, citizens of 176 countries visited Azerbaijan, and the growth of the tourist flow increased to 50%. Most of the tourists came from Russia (32.4%), Turkey (20%) and Iran (8.1%). The share of Turkmenistan is approximately 1.3%.
At the same time, in terms of the overall growth rate of the tourist flow, Turkmenistan confidently ranks second after China, whose citizens who visited Azerbaijan increased by 6.1 times compared to last year's figures.
