Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek met with founding President of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Nunzio Quacquarelli. Rectors of higher educational institutions also took part in the meeting. They discussed issues of increasing the global competitiveness of Kazakh universities, Kazinform reported.
Kazakhstan demonstrates excellent results in the new edition of the Asian University Ranking, QS Quacquarelli Symonds Founding President Nunzio Quacquarelli told at a meeting at Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Two Kazakh universities entered the top 100 best universities in Asia, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which entered the list of the top 50 best Asian universities, ranking 44th. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is located on the 96th place. Kazakhstan has the widest representation in the ranking among other Central Asian countries: the list of the best Asian universities includes 32 universities in the country, the report said.
The top three universities in Central Asia are only universities of Kazakhstan, they also occupy the highest positions in indicators related to international recognition. Al-Farabi KazNU has the highest academic reputation and reputation among employers in the Central Asian region, followed by Gumilyov and Satbayev Universities.
“These results demonstrate the growing international recognition of Kazakhstani higher education. Promotion in world rankings is a clear confirmation of the improvement in the quality of Kazakhstani education and the high status of universities. This shows the high competitiveness of our universities in the international arena,” the minister stressed.
Minister Sayasat Nurbek thanked the guest for the visit and noted that Kazakh universities will continue to improve to reach new heights in the QS ranking.
