In Turkmenistan, two new power plants were inaugurated in honor of Construction and Industry Workers' Day, as reported by state media.
The “Etrek” power station, with a capacity of 220 kV, was launched in the Etrek district of Balkan province in western Turkmenistan, while the “Bagyr” station, with a 110 kV capacity, began operations in Ashgabat. Both facilities feature advanced technologies from leading global manufacturers.
According to representatives from Turkmenistan's Ministry of Energy, these new power plants will strengthen the country’s energy infrastructure and boost export capabilities. Special attention was given to environmental requirements and resource-efficient technologies in their construction.
These power stations are expected to fully meet the needs of domestic consumers while providing additional capacity for electricity exports to neighboring countries.
The inauguration ceremony for the “Etrek” power plant was attended by members of the Mejlis, local government representatives, energy sector workers, public unions, and esteemed elders.
The launch of these facilities is part of a national program to modernize Turkmenistan's energy sector.
