The US has donated 50 Polaris MRZR light tactical combat vehicles worth $2.8 million to Uzbekistan, the press service of the US embassy in Uzbekistan reports.
Mikitary cars are part of American defense production. They were provided to Uzbekistan free of charge as part of the Partner Capacity Building program, the US Embassy said in a statement, Nova24.uz reports.
The transfer of this equipment is just one of the forms of assistance that the United States is offering Uzbekistan to contribute to the defense of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the report said.
After the power in Afghanistan passed to the Taliban in 2021, part of the aviation equipment was transferred to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The Taliban are still demanding that the Afghan aircrafts be returned. However, all military equipment was provided to Afghanistan by the US. So far, all the equipment has not been returned to Afghanistan, despite the fact that the Uzbek authorities are loyal to the new authorities in Afghanistan.
