Almost half of the labor migrants who came to Russia in 2022 to work were immigrants from Uzbekistan, the TASS agency said.

In total, 3.47 million labor migrants arrived in Russia from abroad for the entire year, of which 1.45 million were citizens of Uzbekistan. This is 42% of the total number of migrants who arrived. Most of them are also immigrants from the CIS countries - Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, etc.

The second place in terms of the number of people who came to work is occupied by people from Tajikistan with 986.7 thousand people. Kyrgyzstan is next, from where 562.6 thousand people arrived during the year.

In 2022, the situation with the shortage of personnel for blue-collar jobs — couriers, drivers, movers, storekeepers, repairmen, builders — has worsened. Against the backdrop of rising wages in Russia, the share of foreigners in these areas has increased.
