Uzbekistan regularly emphasizes the need to keep Afghanistan's issues on the international agenda and takes practical steps towards this.

Negotiations took place between the Director of the Uzbekistan Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, Ulugbek Egamov, and the Chairman of Afghanistan's National Authority for Food and Drug Administration (AFDA), Dr. Abdul Bori Umar.

During an online Zoom meeting, proposals were put forth for launching joint pharmaceutical projects in Uzbekistan involving Afghan pharmaceutical enterprises, as well as exporting Uzbekistani pharmaceutical products to Asian countries.

Specifically, suggestions were made, such as establishing a "showroom" for Uzbekistani pharmaceutical products in Afghanistan, registering Uzbekistani pharmaceutical products with the relevant Afghan authorities and reducing the registration period, and involving pharmaceutical production companies in Afghanistan's state procurements for medicinal products.

As a result of the negotiations, a proposal to form a technical working group between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan to address emerging issues was supported.
