Uzbekistan and Japan Discussed Developing Their Strategic Partnership

TASHKENT - Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Kenji Hirata.

During the meeting, the Senate Speaker congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and expressed confidence that his work will contribute to the further strengthening of Uzbek-Japanese relations, Uza.uz reports.

The parties noted the steady development of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached at the leadership level of the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to expanding interparliamentary contacts, developing regional cooperation, and cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Tanzila Narbaeva invited the Japanese ambassador to participate in the 2nd Asian Women's Forum, which will be held in Bukhara on May 14-15, and also spoke about preparations for the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further expanding the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan.
