The agreement was signed during negotiations between aviation authorities within the framework of the second conference of the Working Group on Cooperation in Civil Aviation “Central Asia - China” (C5+1), Gazeta.uz reports.

According to the new rules, airlines of both countries are allowed to operate up to 42 flights per week on each of the key routes — Almaty–Tashkent and Astana–Tashkent. On other routes, the limit is set at up to 7 flights per week. With the full implementation of all agreed routes, the total number of regular flights could reach 238 per week.

The parties also agreed to expand the network of destinations for regular air services, which will open new opportunities for passenger and cargo transportation.

Air service development is already progressing at a rapid pace. For example, since July 3, Uzbek airline My Freighter (Centrum Air) has launched cargo flights on the Aktau–Nukus route twice a week. And since July 15, Kazakhstan’s FlyArystan has begun operating passenger flights from Atyrau to Tashkent three times a week.

The new measures are aimed at strengthening transport connectivity between the countries, improving flight accessibility, and promoting the development of tourism, trade, and economic cooperation in the region.
