The possibility of jointly launching a group of artificial satellites, already developed in Uzbekistan, was discussed by the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Bagdat Musin, reports uz24.uz.
Both parties agreed that an analysis of the information is necessary, which will lead to proposals for advancing the project by the end of 2024.
In 2021, a CubeSat satellite, created by students of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, was launched in Uzbekistan. This U-class satellite was designed for space research. It consists of several modules, weighs 2.5-3 kg, and has dimensions of 10 cubic centimeters.
In March 2022, Acting Director of the Uzbekcosmos Agency Shukhrat Kadyrov stated that the country could launch a satellite into space by 2030, but first, it is necessary to study the needs. In 2023, Uzbekcosmos announced plans to create and send another educational CubeSat satellite into space.
