Kyrgyzstanis and Uzbeks can officially fly in, drive through or cross the border without a passport and stamps, but an ID-card will still be needed for electronic identification.
So far, the resolution signed in Uzbekistan has not yet put the simplified regime into effect, but implies its approval and preparation for the work of the border according to the new rules.
Responsibility for the implementation of the agreement lies with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the border troops of the State Security Service of the two countries. Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan will inform the Kyrgyz side about the implementation of the necessary procedures.
Control over the implementation of the agreement will be performed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, headed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
