Two potential routes for the Trans-Afghan railway have already been identified. One route will pass through the settlements of Mazar-i-Sharif – Herat – Dilarm – Kandahar – Chaman, while the other will go through Termez – Naibabad – Logar – Kharlachi.

The first session to discuss the project is planned to take place during the Russia-Islamic World Forum, scheduled for May 15-16 in Kazan. Representatives from Afghanistan and Pakistan are expected to participate in the discussions.
