Uzbekistan imported 1,912 electric vehicles worth $61.3 million from abroad in January-November 2022, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan announced.
Imports of electric vehicles to Uzbekistan for the current year increased by 1,223 units compared to the same period in 2022, the Podrobno.uz portal reports.
Most cars were imported from China - 1675, from the UAE - 111 and Germany - 56. Cars were delivered to Uzbekistan from Hong Kong - 42, Lithuania - 10, South Korea - 7 and other countries.
In November, it became known that importers and manufacturers of electric vehicles will receive a number of new benefits. The state will also partially repay the interest on the loan when people buy such cars. These and other proposals for the development of the industry were announced at a meeting with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
