Uzbekistan increases purchasing of oil in Kazakhstan

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to supply 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil products in 2023, transit 300,000 tons of Russian oil through Kazakhstan, expand and build gas storage facilities, Zakon.kz reports.

The Ministry of Energy and Companies of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as part of a visit to Tashkent by President of Kazakhstan Tokayev, unites a number of sources in the field of energy and energy resources, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reports.

"The parties signed an agreement worth $150 million on the supply of Kazakh oil and oil products in the amount of 300,000 tons in 2023. The parties agreed to work on increasing the volume of oil supplies to 3 million tons," the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan said.

Another agreement for $9 million provides for the transit of 300,000 tons of Russian oil through Kazakhstan.
