Uzbekistan aims to expand cooperation with Iran in exchanging agricultural expertise and technology, Eurasiatoday.ru reports.
Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, made this statement during a meeting on Sunday with a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministries of Agriculture, Trade, and Investment in Tehran.
Referring to the strategic vision of Iran’s 14th government to strengthen relations with other nations, Ghezeljeh highlighted Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiatives to enhance international ties, which have paved the way for constructive collaboration between the two countries.
During the discussions, Iran expressed its readiness to supply agricultural machinery required by Uzbekistan. The cooperation could include direct exports as well as bartering goods such as potatoes and legumes.
Ibrokhim Ergashev, head of Uzbekistan’s State Plant Quarantine Inspection, emphasized the importance of economic collaboration, stating:
"Uzbekistan is committed to developing and strengthening trade relations with Iran, and necessary planning has been undertaken in this direction."
