Uzbekistan intends to import a large batch of buses from China, Podrobno.uz reports.

This became known following the talks between the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov and the Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan Jiang Yan.

"The parties considered the issues of establishing cooperation on the supply of buses produced by large factories in China, and also discussed the financing of the purchase of buses, the timing of deliveries and the organization of work on the accelerated delivery of buses from China to Uzbekistan," the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan noted.

Ambassador Jiang Yan expressed her readiness to provide comprehensive assistance on the issues raised at the meeting, emphasizing the importance of reforms aimed at developing public transport in our country.

Last week, Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to ensure the delivery of 1,000 buses to Tashkent by March 2023.

Now electric buses of the Chinese company Yutong are actively used in the capital. In the next three years, the city authorities plan to purchase over 600 more electric buses.
