Uzbekistan to receive continuous access to Black Sea

The working group of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Transport Abdusamat Muminov, held talks with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian Railways JSC and the authorities of Georgian Poti and Batumi ports on Black Sea, Nova24.uz portal reports.

The parties discussed the issues of continuous organization of transportation of export and import goods of Uzbekistan to the countries of Europe and America through the ports of Georgia.

The meeting also discussed aspects related to reducing the cost and terms of cargo transportation and expanding tariff benefits. The parties exchanged views on the efficient use of the infrastructure of the two ports of Georgia.

As a result of the meeting, the representatives of the countries identified the tasks to be implemented in the future.

Earlier, Uzbekistan and Georgia held talks on creating a system of transport corridors linking Central Asia and the South Caucasus. The parties agreed on mutual discounts and benefits for the transportation of goods.
