Uzbekistan wants to accelerate construction of Trans-Afghan railway

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed with Minister of Finance of Pakistan, Chairman of the Pakistani part of the bilateral intergovernmental commission Ishak Dara practical aspects of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, primarily in the implementation of projects in the field of trade, investment and transport, press service of Uzbek President reports.

The Pakistani delegation is in Tashkent within the framework of the program of holding the next meeting of the bilateral commission.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the practical implementation of the signed important agreements on transit and preferential trade. In addition, the importance of promoting concrete cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy within the framework of the agenda of intergovernmental negotiations was noted.

President Mirziyoyev dwelled separately on the need to develop road communication and accelerate the construction project of the Trans-Afghan Railway, connecting Central and South Asia through Afghanistan with access to the ports of Pakistan.
