Wholesale and retail trade in Kyrgyzstan experienced a growth of 17.8% in the first six months of 2023. During this period, entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan generated a total trade turnover of 363 billion 567 million som, as reported by the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
It is equal to $4.146 million.
The most significant increase was observed in wholesale trade, which saw a growth of 31%. Retail sellers also saw an increase in turnover, with a rise of 7.2%.
In comparison to the same period of the previous year, January to June 2022, there was a decline in the turnover of both wholesale and retail trade, amounting to 2.5%.
