The highest rate of investment in the economy of Uzbekistan in 2022 has Russia with an indicator of 20.3% of total foreign investment in the republic, the Agency for Statistics of Uzbekistan reports.
"Investor countries with the largest share in the volume of foreign investment and loans: Russia - 20.3%," the report says.
It follows from the agency's data that the volume of Russian investments in Uzbekistan last year amounted to 22.8 trillion soums (about $2 billion). In second place is China with a share of 16.4%, in third place is Turkey - 10.1%.
The total amount of foreign investments and loans directed to fixed assets in Uzbekistan increased by 10.7% in 2022, to 112.2 trillion soums (about $9.9 billion), or 41.6% of all investments in the country's economy, According to the message of the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan. At the same time, the total volume of investments in fixed assets in the country in 2022 increased by 12.6% to 269.9 trillion soums (about $24 billion).
In 2022, 967 enterprises with the participation of Russian capital were created in Uzbekistan. As of January 1 of this year, 3,156 enterprises (20% of the total number of operating ones) operate in Uzbekistan with the participation of Russian business.
Currently, Russian investments in the economy of Uzbekistan have exceeded $10 billion. At the end of 2022, Russia took first place in the list of the main foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan. The trade turnover between the two countries increased by 23% compared to 2021 - up to $9.28 billion (18.6% of the total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan).
