Carriages with free liquefied gas arrived from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan on February 19, the Darakchi portal reports, citing the press service of the Uzbek company Khududgaztaminot.

Gas from Turkmenistan, sent to the people of Karakalpakstan, was delivered "in order to further strengthen good-neighbourly, friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries, friendly and fraternal support of Uzbekistan," the report says.

Karakalpakstan is an autonomous republic within Uzbekistan with about 3 million inhabitants in the northwest of the country. In December-January, this and other regions of Uzbekistan suffered from abnormal cold weather. The Uzbek authorities were forced to apply for additional volumes of gas and electricity to neighboring Turkmenistan. The authorities of Turkmenistan satisfied the request of the neighbors in full and additionally provided a large consignment of liquefied gas free of charge.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reported that Turkmenistan provided a batch of liquefied gas free of charge in order to support Uzbekistan in a friendly and fraternal way. In response, 20 modern ambulances were sent from Uzbekistan to the neighboring country, the portal reports.
