The need to improve state policy on youth was emphasized by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) on November 20, where Uzbekistan's Prime Minister was approved, Gazeta.uz reports.
This is crucial for fostering national pride among the youth while respecting universal values, Mirziyoyev stated.
He underscored that all resources will be mobilized to educate children as bearers of modern knowledge, broad worldviews, and in-demand professions, while also engaging them with science, information technology, spirituality, art, literature, and sports, "spending resources and opportunities without hesitation."
"Today, only a state with such progressive youth, a dedicated intelligentsia, and a people united on the path to the nation's prosperity can safeguard its national interests. We have two key pillars—economy and spirituality. A spiritually great people will also achieve greatness in economic terms," he remarked.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed that efforts to strengthen openness and freedom in society, mutual respect, harmony among nations and religions, as well as ensuring freedom of speech, press, and conscience, will continue.
Amid an extremely unstable and troubling global situation, the president emphasized that the foremost task remains the preservation and protection of the nation's independence and sovereignty, along with the peaceful and free lives of the people, as the most valuable asset.
"We must never forget: the security and defense of our country is a sacred duty not only for the Armed Forces and law enforcement but for everyone who considers Uzbekistan their homeland, regardless of nationality, language, or religion. For this, the sense of a united homeland, a cohesive multiethnic family, must deeply take root in the heart of each of us," he said.
In light of the growing threats and challenges worldwide, particular attention will be given to further enhancing the combat and spiritual potential of the country’s Armed Forces, the head of state concluded.
