The strengthening of cooperation between France and Uzbekistan has nothing to do with the Ukrainian events, Sherzod Asadov, press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, said, according to the Nova24.uz portal.
"Any country forms its foreign policy agenda based on its national interests. The foreign policy agenda of Uzbekistan is determined based on the interests of our country. It does not depend on any geopolitical events, nor on the geopolitical situation," Asadov said.
No third countries influence the formation of the agenda of the parties, the explanation says.
"Today's visits and dialogues are the result of cooperation between the two countries. The European Union is one of our main political and economic partners. Support for active interaction is in the interests of both sides," Asadov said.
Uzbekistan held a brainstorming session on increasing exports to Europe. The ambassadors of foreign countries in Uzbekistan also made their proposals.
The European Union supported Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO. The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation, it was reported earlier.
