Issues of stable oil transit and joint projects to strengthen the security of the pipeline system were discussed by the General Director of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), Nikolai Gorban, and the Chairman of the Board of NC KazMunayGas, Askhat Khasenov, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During their meeting in Astana, the two leaders reviewed the current results of their partnership and plans for the upcoming period, with special emphasis on ensuring the uninterrupted operation of this key export route.
KazMunayGas noted that Askhat Khasenov stressed the critical importance of stable transit of Kazakh oil through CPC infrastructure. Following the talks, both sides reaffirmed their readiness for continued constructive cooperation and the implementation of joint projects aimed at strengthening the pipeline’s energy security.
The dialogue comes amid recent incidents: on November 29, one of the single-point moorings of the CPC marine terminal near Novorossiysk sustained significant damage as a result of a drone attack. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy called the strike on an international energy infrastructure facility unacceptable.
