Erdogan Reaffirms Support for Expanding Cooperation with Kyrgyzstan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev, who is in Turkey on an official visit, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry press service reported.

During the meeting, the parties noted the strong momentum in bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing their strategic partnership. Particular attention was paid to interaction within the UN, the Organization of Turkic States (OTG), and other international forums.

The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to Ankara for supporting Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027–2028. In turn, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Bishkek on its election and wished it success on the Security Council.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their intention to continue implementing previously reached agreements and to strengthen cooperation within the Turkic world and on international security issues.

The current stage of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations is characterized by a consistent expansion of political dialogue and practical cooperation. Turkey remains one of Kyrgyzstan's key partners among the countries of the Turkic world, actively developing cooperation in trade, investment, education, healthcare, defense industry, and humanitarian ties.

Cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States plays a significant role, where Bishkek and Ankara advocate for strengthening regional integration and expanding transport and logistics ties. At the same time, Turkey is strengthening its presence in Central Asia, viewing Kyrgyzstan as an important partner in implementing a common development strategy for the Turkic region.

Regular high-level contacts demonstrate the parties' desire to make bilateral relations more comprehensive and to use political interaction to expand economic and investment cooperation.
