Governments of Uzbekistan and China signed more than 10 documents

Following the negotiations between the leaders of Uzbekistan and China in Beijing, a ceremony for the signing of bilateral documents took place, the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman Xi Jinping signed a joint statement.

The Joint Statement reaffirms the intent of the two countries to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas and continue enriching the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China.

In the presence of the leaders, the following agreements were also signed:

  • Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and China on cooperation in environmental protection;
  • Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and China on technical-economic cooperation;
  • Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and China on cooperation in the development of human resources;
  • Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and China on cooperation between state research institutions;
  • Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of China in the field of teaching the Chinese language.

Additionally, 10 protocols and agreements were signed between state organizations of Uzbekistan and China.

As part of his state visit to China, President Mirziyoyev arrived in Shenzhen from Beijing - the third most populous city in China and a special economic zone in Guangdong Province.

Shenzhen is a hub for technology, research, manufacturing, business, economics, finance, tourism, and transportation, and its seaport is the fourth busiest container port in the world.

Guangdong Province is one of the most developed provinces in China, contributing about 10% of the country's GDP. The province is also the largest economic partner for the regions of Uzbekistan.

On this day, President Mirziyoyev participated in the Uzbek-Chinese investment forum and held a series of meetings with officials and leaders of companies and financial institutions in China.
