In Kazakhstan, 93.2% of the grain crop area, or 15.5 million hectares, has been harvested, said Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov. A total of 23.5 million tons of grain has been threshed with an average yield of 15.2 centners per hectare, according to a statement from the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.
Minister Saparov noted that this year, the volume of preferential lending reached a record 580 billion tenge (just over $1 billion), with 120 billion tenge allocated for the leasing of agricultural machinery. "Considering that farmers received unprecedented support from the state, the results were expected. Our main task now is to complete the harvesting and preserve the yield, especially in regions where work is lagging. All resources need to be mobilized. We must successfully complete this agricultural season and maintain momentum next year," A. Saparov emphasized.
A similar preferential lending mechanism will be applied next year. Overall, it is planned to increase the funding for spring fieldwork and harvesting to 900 billion tenge (almost $2 billion), including 200 billion tenge for agricultural machinery leasing.
