Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said that Kazakhstan's 4% GDP growth for the first nine months was due to the development of non-oil sectors, Zakon.kz reports.
Bektenov stressed that economic indicators in some sectors and regions could have been higher if akims and ministers had been more active. According to the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan, GDP growth for the first nine months of this year reached 4%.
"The main contribution was provided by agriculture (11.4%), manufacturing (4.8%), construction (10.1%) and trade (6.3%). Oil production volumes have decreased, which negatively affects the GDP growth rate. It is important to note that economic growth this year is due to non-oil sectors. This is a positive result and an indicator of ongoing diversification of the economy," Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
