Japan will provide economic assistance to Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries. This announcement will be made by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during his visit to Kazakhstan, reports Eurasiatoday.ru.
Kishida plans to meet with the leaders of five Central Asian states during his diplomatic trip, which will take place from August 9 to 12, according to The Japan Times.
Tokyo aims to strengthen economic ties with Kazakhstan and other countries in the region. Japan hopes to weaken the strong influence of China and Russia in Central Asia. This is why Kishida decided to offer economic assistance to the region, writes the portal.
Kishida is expected to announce an economic support package in a joint statement at the end of the six-party summit in Kazakhstan.
The discussion will include the creation of a new trade route, assistance in decarbonizing the economy (reducing dependence on coal), and promoting interpersonal exchanges.
"Japan will help create a trade route across the Caspian Sea that will connect Central Asia with Europe without passing through Russia," writes The Japan Times.
Japanese companies will also help Central Asian countries reduce their dependence on coal by providing technology and loans for the development and processing of natural gas.
