National unity is the main value of Kazakhstan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said. He urged to protect it in the face of unprecedented geostrategic tensions, RIA Novosti reports.
"I will dwell on the main values of our state. Above all, the unity of the country. Cohesion, territorial integrity, stability and tranquility of society are impossible without strong unity. All citizens of Kazakhstan, regardless of language, religion, race, constitute a single people, a single nation," he said. Tokayev at a meeting with the public in Alma-Ata.
This is a principle that should never be violated, because it ensures the stability and security of the country, the Kazakh President believes.
"I want to emphasize once again: the principle of our state policy - "unity in diversity" - is unshakable. We are different, but we are equal and we are united," Tokayev added.
The President expressed confidence that the loyalty of citizens to these principles and core values will ensure a bright future for the country.
"In the context of unprecedented geostrategic tensions and a growing crisis of confidence in international relations, it is more important than ever for us to strengthen our fundamental values. Unity, solidarity, mutual respect and readiness to always help each other are deeply rooted in our traditions," he concluded.
