Kazakhstan is holding consultations with Russia and Ukraine to ensure the security of the operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline, through which oil is transported to Europe, said Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev during a briefing in the government on Tuesday, Vlast.kz reports.

"We are in contact with the embassies of European countries, with our colleagues from the Russian Federation to ensure the stable operation of this pipeline. Corresponding consultations through diplomatic channels are also underway with the Ukrainian side," Satkaliyev said.

At the same time, the Minister of Energy attributes interruptions in the operation of the CPC solely to "weather factors" and the need for scheduled major repairs.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported, citing three sources, that Washington had urged Kiev to stop attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure, as the CPC pipeline, through which Kazakh oil supplies to Europe are carried out and passes through the territory of Russia and Ukraine, could be affected.
