Kazakhstan started sending oil to Germany via pipeline

On February 23, 2023, Kazakhstan began shipping oil to Germany. Oil began to flow into the system of main oil pipelines of KazTransOil JSC for transportation through oil pipelines through the territory of Russia. This is reported by Zakon.kz with reference to Shyngys Ilyasov, director of the department for public relations and internal communications of KazTransOil JSC.

In accordance with the oil supply schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, KazTransOil JSC transports 20,000 tons of Kazakhstani oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline to the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany in February, the company's website says.

In December 2022, KazTransOil JSC sent an annual application for the transportation in 2023 of 1.2 million tons of Kazakh oil through the system of main oil pipelines of Transneft PJSC in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany. This transit of oil will be carried out within the framework of the relevant agreement between the government of Kazakhstan and the government of Russia dated June 7, 2002.

The fact that Germany applied for pumping Kazakh oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline in 2023 became known on December 21, 2022.
