The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with relevant authorities, is continuing its operation to evacuate citizens of the republic from the escalation zone in the Middle East, Zakon.kz reports, citing the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
As of March 9, 2026, more than 7,300 Kazakh citizens have returned home thanks to coordination with resident airlines and foreign carriers. The operation covers both organized evacuations and assistance for citizens departing independently via safe routes.
In addition to air flights, ground routes are being used to evacuate fellow citizens. People are crossing borders through friendly states in the region:
- Azerbaijan
- Armenia
- Turkmenistan
This combined approach enables authorities to reach the maximum number of people, particularly under conditions of limited air connectivity.
"Kazakhstan's diplomatic missions in the region continue to coordinate actions on site and maintain constant contact with our fellow citizens," the ministry emphasized.
Consular services are assisting with document processing, providing information on safe corridors, and escorting groups of citizens to departure points or border crossings.
In a single night from March 7 to 8, 2026, 11 special flights were carried out from Middle Eastern countries to Kazakhstan. These flights brought home more than 1,700 people.
