Kazakhstan's exports of non-resource and processed goods reached $15.2 billion in January–June 2026, an increase of 17.6% compared to the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, this is the highest figure in the last seven years, Kazinform reported.

Over the year, exports grew by $2.3 billion, while imports increased by only 3%—from $27.9 billion to $28.7 billion. As a result, the trade deficit narrowed from $14.9 billion to $13.5 billion.

The most significant increases were to Turkey, doubling to $1.91 billion, and to the United Kingdom, increasing 2.7-fold to $671.8 million. Exports to China increased by 12.1% to $3.67 billion.

The main export items remain copper and cathodes—$2.84 billion, uranium—$1.51 billion, ferroalloys—$1.1 billion, and silver—$781.3 million. Sunflower oil and feed products also accounted for significant volumes.

The acceleration of non-resource exports demonstrates the gradual expansion of Kazakhstan's foreign trade base. It is particularly important that exports are growing significantly faster than imports, and increased shipments to China, Turkey, and the UK indicate a geographic expansion of markets. However, the export basket remains significantly dependent on metals and uranium, so further diversification will require increased shipments of more highly processed products and finished goods.
