Kyrgyzstan intends to produce KAMAZ, Hyundai and KIA trucks

Kyrgyzstan is betting on the development of the automobile industry, said Eldos Sagymbaev, chief specialist of the industry department of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.

According to the expert, negotiations are underway with Russia within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union on the production of KamAZ trucks in Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, the domestic enterprise Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush is considering a project to produce small trucks such as Porter from Korean companies KIA and Hyundai.

A joint production of heavy trucks based on the Chinese brand Shacman is also planned. The corresponding agreement was signed in May 2023.
