Mirziyoyev's visit to Paris ends with contracts for billions of euros

The two-day official visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France ended with the signing of major projects, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

During the visit, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and France held talks at the Elysee Palace, together with their spouses got acquainted with large-scale exhibitions of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan at the Louvre Museum and the Arab World Institute.

The President of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Director General of the French Development Agency and business circles of this country. Mirziyoyev met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of France.

Following the visit, the heads of state adopted a Joint Statement in order to develop high-level comprehensive partnership relations.

The parties signed 14 agreements aimed at further expansion of Uzbek-French relations. Among them are the Strategic Partnership Agreement with the French Development Agency for the implementation of the Cooperation Program for 2023-2025 and the Program for Cooperation between Foreign Ministries for the period 2023-2024.

Declarations were signed on cooperation in the field of cultural and historical heritage, preschool, public and higher education, development of the civil service of the two countries.

In addition, the documents in the field of civil aviation, the fight against corruption, advanced training of judges, teaching French and other areas were signed.

The parties reached bilateral agreements on the implementation of priority projects of trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation in the amount of more than 6 billion euros.

France is implementing projects worth one billion euros in Uzbekistan.

Earlier it was reported that the president discussed the development of partnerships with business circles in France. Mirziyoyev invited French entrepreneurs to personally assess the potential of Uzbekistan.
