310 more Afghan families have returned from Iran and Pakistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation of Afghanistan reported on Wednesday, October 9, Khaama.com reports.
According to the reports, these migrants re-entered Afghanistan through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Nimroz, and Islam Qala border crossings.
The figures show that 35 families returned through Torkham, 38 through Spin Boldak, 98 through Nimroz, and 139 families through Islam Qala.
In recent months, Iran and Pakistan have increased the arrests and deportations of Afghan migrants. Reports indicate that Iran is even deporting Afghans who possess valid visas.
According to Taliban statistics, hundreds of people return to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan daily. In most cases, these migrants are forcibly deported.
The continued deportations of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries highlight the growing humanitarian crisis, with many families being forced to return under difficult circumstances.
Meanwhile, the deportations are causing Afghanistan to face additional challenges in providing support and reintegration services for returnees, placing further strain on the country’s fragile infrastructure and economy.
