An international conference titled "Promoting Access to Justice in Turkmenistan: The Role of Lawyers in International and European Law and Practice" has commenced in the capital of Turkmenistan. The event is organized jointly with the European Union and the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, Turkmenportal.tm reports.
The conference was attended by representatives of Turkmenistan's government agencies, bar associations, as well as international experts from Central Asian countries and the Council of Europe.
As reported by the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, the first day of the conference discussed issues related to ensuring universal and equal access to justice in accordance with international standards.
Representatives from the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan and the Bar Association spoke about their achievements in ensuring access to justice, while international experts analyzed the best practices in European countries.
The conference will span over two days.
