At the SCO Heads of State meeting, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, emphasized the importance of Kyrgyzstan's initiative to establish a Center for Counteracting International Organized Crime in the city of Bishkek.

In his speech at the summit, he also stressed that existing global problems, such as terrorism, cyber threats, and international crime, require close attention and joint efforts.

Japarov also thanked everyone for supporting the candidacy of the head of the Kyrgyz National Security Committee’s Border Service, Ularbek Sharsheev, for the position of Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.

"Since its foundation, expanding its areas of activity, the organization has also been successfully increasing its partnership potential," said the President of Kyrgyzstan.

He also congratulated President Alexander Lukashenko on Belarus obtaining full member status in the SCO.

Additionally, Japarov informed that in 2025, Kyrgyzstan plans to hold the SCO Youth Digital Forum in Bishkek, and expressed confidence that the event will make a significant contribution to strengthening regional cooperation among SCO member states in the field of digital technologies and youth policy.

In the context of developing transport cooperation and the effective use of existing infrastructure, Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan advocates for the practical implementation of the agreement between the governments of SCO member states to create favorable conditions for international road transport and other documents in the field of transport.

President Japarov emphasized that for Kyrgyzstan, issues of successful and sustainable development in the energy sector are very relevant and important.

The approved Energy Cooperation Development Strategy of the SCO member states until 2030 will enable the necessary work to be carried out to develop cooperation in this area.

"At the same time, the rapid melting of glaciers threatens the reduction of water resources, which is already negatively affecting the state of agriculture and leads to the issue of food security," noted S. Japarov.

The President of Kyrgyzstan mentioned that as the final stage of the "Mountain Decade," the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25" is planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2027, 25 years after the first summit.

Japarov added that the Issyk-Kul SCO Marathon, which has also become an image project of the organization, is held annually by the Kyrgyz side.
