Tajikistan and Iran discuss possibilities of crude oil transportation

The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, paid a working visit to Iran, where he held a series of meetings aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, reports *Asiaplus.tj*.

In negotiations with Iran's Minister of Energy, Abbas Aliabadi, the parties discussed the significance of the Rogun Hydropower Plant for the region, the process of reconnecting Tajikistan to the unified energy system of Central Asia, as well as the CASA-1000 project, according to the press service of the Tajik Ministry of Energy.

Additionally, the possibilities of transporting crude oil to meet the needs of Tajikistan's oil refineries were considered, although no further details were provided on this issue.

Daler Juma also met with Iran's new Minister of Oil, Mohsen Paknejad. During the conversation, they discussed expanding sectoral cooperation, including attracting investments in the oil and gas sector and the supply of crude oil from Iran to Tajikistan under preferential terms.

The parties talked about the exchange of expertise between specialists from both countries and the need to study Tajikistan’s oil and gas wells.

With the CEO of "Farab" company, Mohammad Haidari, Juma discussed current issues concerning the operations of the Sangtuda-2 Hydropower Plant, taking into account mutual interests, including measures necessary to ensure the reliable functioning of the power station.
