A national consultative meeting was held in Tajikistan, organized by the United Nations together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. The discussion focused on the development of a new UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2027–2030, Asiaplus.tj reports.
Participants reviewed the findings of the UN Country Analysis, paying particular attention to economic diversification, social development, food security, the environment, governance, human rights, and social cohesion, and presented their recommendations.
Acting UN Resident Coordinator Viktor Olsavsky noted that the new framework will become a key document guiding cooperation between the UN and Tajikistan, aligned with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals. First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ashurboy Solehzoda emphasized that the work comes at a strategically important moment and will be harmonized with the country’s Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–2030.
Partners also shared proposals for priority areas of cooperation, which will be considered in drafting the UNSDCF, the document that will define the UN system’s work in Tajikistan for the next four years.
