A delegation from Tajikistan took part in the 11th International Education and Skills Forum organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, dedicated to rethinking the potential of human capital, Pressa.tj reports.

The event gathered policymakers, education experts and practitioners from across the region, according to the country’s Ministry of Education and Science.

Representing Tajikistan were First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Khomid Khoshimzoda and the project manager of the ADB-supported STEM secondary education program. They joined discussions on global shifts in education, the role of emerging technologies, and the development of essential skills for future job markets.

During the forum, Khoshimzoda met with ADB Deputy Director Yong Ye to review cooperation in improving education quality, expanding equal access, advancing youth skills, and deepening partnership. ADB reaffirmed its readiness to continue supporting key education initiatives in Tajikistan.

In thematic sessions, the First Deputy Minister outlined Tajikistan’s priorities in modernizing the education system and integrating international best practices. Project manager A. Bobokhon presented progress on two major ADB initiatives — enhancing STEM-focused secondary schooling and strengthening vocational skills to boost employability.

Participants also explored the integration of green energy, artificial intelligence and digital tools into the learning process, as well as new opportunities for international collaboration and innovative teaching approaches.

The forum concluded with an exchange of experiences and identification of new avenues for joint work in the education sector.
